The space shuttle launch, 12/1/00. The small
white dot to the left is Synchronicity's mast light!!

11/28/00 Jacksonville, Fl - It was good to be home for the holiday, but it's time to get moving again. So it's down the ICW to Oyster Creek in St Augustine and try to hook up with my friends on thier boat Eridanus.

The Bridge of Lions in St Augustine.

11/29/00 St Augustine, Fl - Saw Eridanus as I was pulling into the marina. Ran into Kate & Chuck later on that evening. Exchanged boat tours (of course..), and decided to cruise in company the next day.

Synchronicity is starting to look
like a real cruising boat!
Synchronicity rides at
anchor in Daytona.

11/30/00 Daytona, Fl - Anchored just south of the Memorial Bridge in Daytona. Joined Kate and Chuck on Eridanus for dinner and drinks and we watched the shuttle lift off. What a wonderful sight!

A montage of the shuttle launch. The sailboat in the 2 center shots is Synchronicity!

12/1/00 Titusville, Fl - Anchored out for the night.

See - I did sail the ICW!.
No comments on sail trim...
12/2/00 N Rocky Point, Fl - Stayed at anchor for 2 nights waiting out strong winds! Rocking and rolling all night, but the Delta anchor held!

12/4/00 Ft Pierce, Fl - As I was sitting in my boat (Wed,12/6) at the marina working on this page, I looked up and saw a boom with a sail furled on it go very near to OVER my stern. I popped up and there was this reproduction of the NINA pulling alongside the dock right behind me. So I grabbed my camera and took some shots:

I hooked up with my friends Collette and Joey who live in Ft Pierce.

12/7/00 Jensen Beach, Fl - Anchored out.

Chris Gordon and Midnight Mail stop by...

12/8/00 Stuart, Fl - Engine maintenance. Hey, this is waaaay too much like work...

12/10/00 Peck Lake, Fl - Peck Lake is a section of the ICW that is separated from the Atlantic by a thin stretch of sand dunes. There is a small anchorage there where you can walk to the Atlantic beach. This section of beach is only accessible by boat, so it is pretty deserted most of the time.

Moonrise at Peck Lake...
Across the dunes at Peck Lake

12/13/00 Lake Worth, N. Palm Beach, Fl - The anchorage at the North end of Lake Worth is a waiting area for cruisers waiting for a weather window to cross over to the Bahamas. There are 20-30 sailboats anchored here and more arriving daily. I will stay here until I get some boat work done and then, like everyone else, I will wait for the wind to change.

Waiting for the right wind at Lake Worth.

Peggy, Dave and Roger at Lake Worth.

Next stop: West Palm and the Bahamas!
