St Augustine, FL

A chilly start, but the day warmed up pretty fast. I anchored near the old fort here and they started shooting off cannons - it scared the crap out of me - very loud!

Titusville, FL

Had to put up with 20-25 knot SE winds trying to blow me out of the channel, but I did beat the REALLY bad
weather into Titusville where I got a slip at the marina. In the slip next to me was a wooden ketch named Zydeco
I had seen and photographed back in South Carolina. So as it started to rain I killed a couple of bottles of wine
with Beck and Ted, who remembered seeing me take the photo.

North Rocky Point, FL

Anchored at North Rocky Point. This is just an area of 7-8 feet of water with a couple of spoil islands to hide behind if the wind kicks up.

|
I hear it's snowing in Maryland...

This is a spoil island.

On a mooring at Velcro Beach. I'm am waiting for parts to repair my broken radar unit. This evening a group of about 20 people in kayaks decorated with Christmas
lights came paddling by singing carols...

It's not for nothing that they call it Velcro Beach....
Still here. Radar's still broken. But I have met with my clients, and with local friends.

On The Move Again....
I had to escape from Velcro Beach. It's too easy to sit there for long periods of time. I just moved
a short distance down the ICW, just to get moving again. I had dinner at my friends Rob and Heather's house.
Great folks, great meal and back to the boat to move on.

Peck Lake, FL

|
Another short run. I decided to do laundry before I left. From here on out I will have to walk a ways to
any laundromats... Anchored in Peck Lake. There is only a 50 yard wide strip of land that separates the Atlantic
Ocean from the ICW here.

Lake Worth, FL

Finally at Lake Worth. This is where I will wait for the weather favorable for the crossing to the Bahamas.
12/25 - Christmas at Lake Worth, with decorations of a different sort...
12/29 - I have decided to stay in Florida until I get back from my ski trip to Sutton, Canada. Mostly due to work considerations,
but also to make my life simpler and enjoy the passage from Florida to Marsh Harbour more. If I crossed over prior to my ski trip
scheduled for 1/7, I would have to rush to Marsh Harbour, find a place to leave the boat for a week and then find a flight to West Palm. -
all of which is dependent on the weather. So I will stay here, get some work done and pick up my journey when I return from Canada.

ski trip in Sutton, Quebec, Canada. Here I met Jane and Mike on Blessings, a 44ft DeFever Trawler.
They are from Manteo, NC and are headed out on their first cruise to the Bahamas, with Hopetown as their goal.
